Dear Larry,
I do not know enough words to express my appreciation for what you have done and continue to do for my over all attitude toward life.
When I first found your web site I thought it would be interesting to listen to the recordings. You know just as something different for a change.
Well things really started after I received my first magazine #17. The more I listened the more ideas I got. Then the WW forum started and that really got me going.
AT the time I had a few hand tools and a Radial Arm Saw in an eighteen by 24 foot garage with bare stud walls some basic electric and a lot of junk. Now it is insulated, dry walled and has full electric and has become a four season shop. I have a table saw, miter saw, drill press, jointer, planer, two routers, and a large router table as well as many more hand tools and jigs. I have built a Light House for my yard, a Rocking Horse for my grand daughter, a entertainment center, a cabinet for my router table and many other small projects.
Helping with the ww4b web site has also been fun and challenging. I hope it might inspire some one else to get involved with woodworking or at the least help those who are already enjoying the craft. Thanks again Larry. You have made a major difference in my life, as well as so many others. Darrel Vickers, Washington Missouri
Larry. You are doing such a wonderful thing for us all. I know there will be a special place for you in heaven. Don't be in too much of a hurry to get there. We all value you here on earth as much as the friend you are to us all as for the work you do. God has and will continue to bless you and Mary Jo. Regards. Max Robinson KT
Dear Larry, I am extremely appreciative of your efforts to help blind woodworkers. The time and effort that you put into making the recordings is so greatly appreciated. On top of that you spend a lot of time researching questions for all of us. Again thank you Lenny McHugh Pottsville, Pennsylvania
Larry, Every one of our members has thought of and dreamed of woodworking and the satisfaction and pleasure that comes from it. Those dreams and thoughts materialized five years ago. Many of us have managed to creep along working on what we could and waiting for that friend or family to "read" or "Measure" or "describe" an item or issue to get us to the next step in a project. Larry Martin "thinks like a blind or visually impaired woodworker"! His recordings were read and addendums included to more specifically explain techniques and actions that would otherwise require sight. There is no other group like the WW4B group and it all began with Larry Martin. He, like a successful leader, found those blind and visually impaired woodworkers that have teaching qualities and empowered them to collect, organize and add plans, projects and techniques to a web site that is instructive, informational and a "one of a kind resource" for blind woodworkers.
Saying thank you seems so small and insignificant, Larry, but it is without reservation and heartfelt. Thank You! Thank you for what you started and how you have encouraged each Visually impaired and Blind wood worker during the last five years. Most of our equipment would still be gathering dust or we would still be dreaming of woodworking.
It's your fault! You started it! And….we are all grateful!
Best,
Max in SC
Dear Larry,
In life we run across many types of people. Some folks are out to get whatever they can for themselves regardless of how that affects others.
Some folks are more interested in just doing their own thing and don't care what others are doing, even if they are careful not to impact others,
they also don't impact others for good or bad.
Then there are the very few, those people who go out of their way to make the world a better place. Those people who actually put forth effort to improve the lives of others. You sir, stand at the top of that last group. Without provocation, you saw a need in the very small community of blind wood workers and decided to expend a tremendous amount of effort to help improve our situation.
You asked for no remuneration, not even that to recover your own costs. You do all of this simply to help others get
more out of their hobby. Your passion, your energy, your caring is
humbling.
There is an honor I bestow on very few people, and in this case, I believe it is well worth it. You sir, have made a difference. Many of us go through life, if not oblivious to those around us, at least not interested enough to change their world. You stepped forward and made a huge change in the lives of quite a few blind people. You made a difference, and that is an achievement that few of us can claim.
Thank you for all of your hard work and your interest in helping such a small and specialized group of people who would normally be ignored by the main stream.

Dear Larry,
I am currently still working, but hope to retire within the next year. I have enjoyed woodworking since I was in my teens, but mainly have done residential construction and remodeling on homes I've owned. I have only listened to a couple of articles read by you, but will be very involved in the remodeling of our Michigan home this year, and the renovation of our Indiana home over the next few years. I appreciate and look forward to having such an excellent resource as the articles read and explained by you.
Some individuals can explain concepts and techniques and some can't. I'm sure that all of us on the list find it very frustrating when someone is explaining something to us and we just can't grasp the explanation. I appreciate you taking the time, and finding the patience to explain things so clearly for the group. Because I am still relearning much of the terminology of woodworking, and since I am still unfamiliar with many shop tools, I often get lost, but I know that it is due to my lack of knowledge, and has nothing to do with your explanation. I have to admit, that I always smile when someone asks for clarification of the same questions that I have, and appreciate all of those who jump in to further clarify the topic.
Much thanks to you and to all the list members, that make this list such a great resource and interest group.

Larry,
We don't have words sufficient to express how much you have come to mean to so many of us. From the humble beginning of a visit with a Canadian blind woodworker, you have been instrumental in providing valuable articles, supporting us with our many questions, and connecting us with each other. And the ripple effect has gone far beyond to untold others.
You sure have a giving and generous heart. I can't believe the number of hours you have put into recordings for WW4B. Thanks so much for your hard work and your generous spirit.

I want to thank Larry for his devotion to us blind woodworkers. His recordings have help me get things done which other wise would be a problem. I have listened to hours of Larry's voice and will never stop thinking of what he is doing for us.

Larry,I've given you several "attaboys" over the years that I've enjoyed your recordings but it never hurts to do it again. Your readings of the woodworking books have enriched my life immensely. I can honestly say that I've listened to each and every article on every CD and DVD that you've sent. I've taken many of the articles to heart and my shop is full of ideas that came from the articles. Not only that but they have got the juices flowing in my brain and I have incorporated several ideas that have spun off from what you have read.
That said, I also need to thank sincerely the other blind wood workers for the Forum and your leadership in getting it going and continuing it's high quality and very useful content. These guys continue to amaze me with what and how they are doing. I know I'll never be as good a craftsman as many of them are but I bet not many have the fun I do trying.
Much Aloha,
Bill Reynolds
For a long time I thought I was the only blind woodworker but I knew I wasn't but now I know that I'm not
Thanks Larry!!!!

Dear Larry,
Thanks for everything yu have done for the woodworking group. Your reading of the magazine's has made it much easier for me to get anything out of a woodworking magazine. As always keep up the good work.

Larry, Thank you for all you do. Your work on behalf of the members of Woodworking for the Blind is very much appreciated. I personally have learned a great deal about new ways to accomplish things since losing my eyesight. It has restored some of my confidence and made me feel better about myself.
